１１。３０am － １２。３０pm 是高官们吃的。。。
１２。３０pm 人民才可以去。。。
原来， 平民百姓不可以和高官一起吃饭的。。。
所以， 我们要等到高官们吃完， 才可以吃他们吃剩的。。。

I was perturbed when I read YB Teresa Kok’s statement that the food underISA detention is equivalent or slightly better than dog food. It costsRM8 to feed a dog, according to the Malay Mail survey and only RM4.50 to feed on ISA detainees.

I feed my cats and fish premium food such as science diet and would never dream of feeding my pets the food that we are fed here. I actually stopped eating the food here after the first couple of days because itgave me diarrhea.

A couple of nights ago I vomited after eating the food and now I cannot even stand the sight or smell of the trays that they send to our cell twice a day.

I now survive on dates and plain water and I suppose if that is good enough for camels to survive in the Arabian Desert, it should be good enough for me.

I was told camels have a healthy sex drive and I would like to believe itbecause of the date that is my staple food. Of cause, there is no way I can test this theory until I come safely out of this place.

Actually, food is the least of my worries at this point of time. I am presently in three months solitary confinement and the only pussy I get to see is this mangy cat that somehow has found its way into my cell block to sleep outside my locked door.

It has not rained since I arrived here a week ago and I was told Kamunting has not seen any rain for the last few weeks.
The heat in the cell is unbearable and the air is very stuffy.

The uncomfortable environment does help to put your mind off your growling stomach.
I am what they call under orientation. This three months’ orientation I suppose is to get me used to the 2 years I am going to spend here.

One of my favorite classics that I used to read in Standard 1 is the Tale of Two Cities, which is about the French Revolution. I can now betterappreciate the battle cry “give me liberty or give me death”. They say you appreciate something only after it has been taken away from you.

Today, my liberty is at the top of my priority list. But I know it shall not come soon and it shall not come easy and it shall only come if there is a change of government and if the new government fulfill sits promise to abolish the ISA.

I have just been informed by the Bukit Bendera MP’s office that they, along with several Penang-based civil society activists, are planning a drive to the Kamunting Detention Centre in Taiping on the second day of Raya to convey their greetings to the ISA detainees:

Flowers, cards and gifts, if any, will be passed on to Raja Petra and the other ISA detainees to let them know that they are not forgotten on this special day.  RPK’s wife Marina has been informed of the event and hope that she will also be able to join us. The Press will also be invited for this event.

We are convinced that Senator Barack Obama is such a leader, and we urge you to join us in supporting him.

During the administration of George W. Bush, vital parts of our country’s scientific enterprise have been damaged by stagnant or declining federal support. The government’s scientific advisory process has been distorted by political considerations. As a result, our once dominant position in the scientific world has been shaken and our prosperity has been placed at risk. We have lost time critical for the development of new ways to provide energy, treat disease, reverse climate change, strengthen our security, and improve our economy.

We have watched Senator Obama’s approach to these issues with admiration. We especially applaud his emphasis during the campaign on the power of science and technology to enhance our nation’s competitiveness. 新加坡与大马的差距是什么时候开始的？

新加坡与大马的差距是什么时候开始的？

记得小时候， 大概是在８０年代和更久以前。
总是听家人亲戚说：＂去新加坡血拼（shopping）＂。。。
＂新加坡的东西很便宜＂。。。等等的话。
每一次去新加坡玩耍，探亲回来， 总是大包，小包的带过关卡。
又或者， 有朋友去新加坡， 总是会被委托买东西。
大家总是说：＂woodland的东西超级便宜＂。。。

不记得从什么时候开始，
新币起了又起； 马币一跌再跌。。。。
直到现在。。。

新加坡人总是说：
＂大马的东西便宜＂
＂去新山血拼＂
＂去新山打油＂
＂买了跑车要飑车， 去大马的highway，就算被saman， 也付不多＂

到底我们的马币出了什么问题？
到底我们的经济出了什么问题？

我们有得天独厚的天然资源，为什么一个独立５１年的国家， 比不上后来脱离大马的弹丸小国？
是新家坡发展太快？
是我们不进则退？
还是一直以来， 我们只退没进？

我们已经被新加坡迎头赶上那么多年了，可是政府却一直告诉我们＂其实， 我们已经很好了。。。看！我们比非洲国家发达。。。我们比缅甸， 越南发达。。。＂

我们就算有了世界最高的建筑物， 那又怎么样？
不。进。则。退。
我们跟外面其他国家比起来， 看起来很好， 又怎么样？
不需要大费周张， 用世上最好的望远镜看那么远。
转一转头， 望一望坐在自己隔壁的小弟弟。
原本走在我们后头的，已经长大了，还走在我们的前面。
甚至， 比我们走得更远。。。
这， 就是我们国家政府５１年来， 所带给我们的＂进步＂。
我国领导人说：＂我们很进步＂的当儿，
我们＂真的＂进步吗？

有时， 我们讨厌新加坡人； 鄙视新加坡人。。。
是真的新加坡人市侩， 讨人厌吗？
还是我们自己的自卑心作祟呢？

在我们庆祝５１周年国庆时，
在我们一片９１６热潮时。。。
看看我们幼稚的自己， 还一昧的活在封闭了的＂种族分划＂， ＂种族言论＂，＂土著特权＂和＂种族输赢论里＂。。。
政客一而再， 再而三的挑起事端。。。唯恐天下不乱。

看看我们隔壁那位长大了的小弟弟。。。
问一句：

我们甘心吗？
甘心被他后来居上吗？

愿与国阵和民联所有领袖， 共勉之。。。

27 Sept 08: 反ISA恶法烛光会 Say No to ISA

昨天晚上，参加了原本在独立广场举办的“反ISA恶法烛光会”。

我们之前就已经获得通知，所以大家都穿上黑色，橙色或者红色的上衣。

大会原定在晚上七时开始。所以，大约六点五十分左右， 我和我的朋友抵达了独立广场附近。

住在雪州那么久， 也来了吉隆坡那么多次。我还从来没有想过要到独立广场走走。想象独立时候的情景。这一趟的烛光会，让我对这个城市，又有多一点的了解了。

一到达那里，就看见警方早已经封锁了通往独立广场周围的路段。而且， 还有大量的警员在那里驻守。 我们见到这种情形，只好绕路而走。 就在这个时候，不远处， 我们看见有几名身穿HINDRAF字眼橙色上衣的印度同胞， 站在吉隆坡市议会前面。 我们便走过去和他们打招呼。虽然大家都不认识对方， 但是一知道我们都有同一个目的，也就不分彼此，聊了起来。他们很开心越来越多华裔出来支持他们。当他们知道我们从加影赶来， 都感动的为我们鼓掌。

在那里站了不久， 就收到朋友的电话，知道还有两班人，分别在两个不同的地方集合，打算集合后步行到独立广场。一个集合点是在中央艺术坊前面，另外一群人则已经聚集在律师公会前面。

大概晚上七时左右，很多小路都被警方用黄色的线围住，不让我们通过。而HINDRAF 的几位印度大哥， 应该是要等同伴， 所以我和朋友打算先步行到独立广场。

终于， 饶了一段路，到达独立广场。

奇怪。。。竟然没有人？？？

只有一两位安格安娣，站在那里。 他们看到我们两个， 就问是不是来参加烛光会的。我们说是。然后大家就在纳闷，怎么没有人的啊？

就在我们聊阿聊的当儿，慢慢开始有越来越多人抵达了。

我们还有幸见到我们大马几位著名的政经文教界的部落客， 例如：HARIS IBRAHIM, ZORRO-UNMASKED 等等。

当人数开始慢慢多起来时， 大家就开始点蜡烛了。远处，也看见警察在独立广场周围巡逻。

有人拿出自制的生日贺卡摆在一旁，要送给拉惹柏特拉的。

我也有自己准备的贺卡。不过前一天已经寄去了甘文丁。希望拉惹柏特拉快点收到。

有趣的是， 现场也有许多安格安娣， 带着子女，一起来点蜡烛。还一边告诉他们我们国家的故事，内安法令的由来， 为什么如此不公平。。。

此情此景，让人觉得，这些安格已经不单单只会在咖啡店里面大声批评，相反的，开始以实际行动说出自己的不满。而安娣们， 也已经不止入得厨房，出得厅堂，还敢于走出户外，参与请愿。

这一幕， 让我对这些安格安娣敬佩不已，也刮目相看。与其不让孩子参与这类活动，过分保护他们， 不如让他们知道真相，知道多一点这个国家的事。

这些孩子将来， 就是这个国家的主人翁。他们绝对有权利知道这些事。

一个印度老安格忘了带打火机，所以就走过来跟我们借个火。 一边点蜡烛， 一边问我：” So, you’re in Dataran Merdeka now. Do you feel Merdeka? （你如今身在独立广场了，你有没有独立的感觉呢？）” 。

哇。。。 一个很尖锐，可是却是一针见血的问题。

安格或许是身在独立广场，勾起了51年前的回忆，一时有感而发，不胜唏嘘吧。。。

而我呢， 51 年前的独立， 我没有经历过。只能摇摇头，报以一个微笑。

51 年前的独立，当年的辛苦，当年的流血。 我们真的无法想象先辈们付出。如果我们这一代没有经历过的人说“明白”独立的辛劳，那简直就是对先辈们的侮辱。

我们没有亲身经历过。我们无法想象，更永远也不会明白个中的滋味。

大马著名导演雅斯敏曾经说过，每一代人都有自己的“独立”要去争取。

上一代的人争取独立时， 付出了太多，流了很多血，泪，汗。。。这样痛苦的回忆，不应该由世世代代的人去承受。年轻的一代，有另外一种形式的“独立”等着我们去争取。或许，我们就是正在经历着这另外一种形式的独立。

一个国家，就好像一个正在经历着进化的生物。需要慢慢蜕变。才可以更上一层楼。

正当大家好不容易忙着点完蜡烛时。 人群中突然间突然起了一阵小小的骚动。

我朝声音的源头望去。。。

原来，是拉惹柏特拉的妻子， 玛丽娜 · 李， 手持着一根蜡烛走向我们。

大家都热烈的鼓掌欢迎这位伟大的男人背后的伟大女人。

她身穿着一件黑色上衣， 配一件牛仔裤。手上拎着一个红色的大包包。微笑着走来。这时候， 有人把之前那张送给拉惹柏特拉的生日贺卡转交给她。

也有些人走过去，慰问她。

听她说， 她当天早上，才刚刚去探望过拉惹柏特拉。

有人像玛丽娜提议，要唱首生日歌给Pete （拉惹柏特拉的昵称）。于是我们一大班人，就持着烛光， 唱了一首 PEACEFUL BIRTHDAY， 来代替 HAPPY BIRTHDAY。毕竟被关在甘文丁那种地方， 没有人会觉得 HAPPY 的。 所以，我们就只好祈愿他可以在里面度过一个平安的生日。

而事实上，根据玛丽娜在部落格里的叙述，拉惹柏特拉在甘文丁，不知今夕是何夕， 连自己的生日也不记得了。不过幸好，当局还是有把所有支持者的贺卡，信件， 明信片交到他的手上。

在其他地点集合的群众已经开始往独立广场前进了。他们一路士气滂沱，高歌着，喊话着； 要废除内安法令，释放扣留者，人民万岁等等。。。口号响彻云霄。

就连隔着几条街，身在独立广场的我们也能听到。

就在我们的“仪式”刚刚进行完毕， 警方人员终于出现干预了。

其实我们也早就料到他们一定会出现的。所以，也不是太过惊讶。只觉得扫兴。再说，独立广场是个公众地方， 本地人或者外国游客来到吉隆坡，都会来参观的地方啊。。。难道有条例说明不可以在这里点蜡烛，唱生日歌吗？

一些带头的参与者，就上前想和警方理论。说我们只是在这里和朋友聚一聚，我们是非常和平的集会。一开始，警方说我们不能够踏在草地上。 那样的话，会弄坏草地的。

既然警方人员那么说，我们就要求允许我们站在广场那里，不踩到草地咯！

可是过了一会儿，警方还是不肯。再度要求我们离开。

一位带头的胖警官接着就大声喊，命令我们在限时20秒内离开，否则就开始 ambil tindakan – 抓人！！！接着，他就开始倒数。 20。。19。。18。。

限时20秒闪人

唉。。。好吧！既然你们不肯我们在这里点蜡烛， 那么我们就拿着蜡烛走上街头，去逛街吧！

吉隆坡大街车水马龙，天色夜暗了下来。 大家点着蜡烛逛街，也不会过分吧。

这个时候， 我们也收到消息，从中央艺术方， 和律师公会出发的华裔青年学生和兴都权益会的支持者， 都在半路被拦了下来，不让他们到独立广场去。

由于大家也不太清楚接下来我们要到哪里集合， 就索性站在大路边，点着蜡烛。

路上车来车往，最让我们感动的，是这些车主（不管是私家车，罗厘还是电单车）知道我们是为了“反ISA”， 都纷纷响起了车笛给我们打气，支持我们。

有些车主摇下车镜，对我们比起“GOOD”的手势。

电单车骑士向我们挥手致意。

虽然他们没有参与。不过他们的举动告诉我们：他们虽然没有参与，可是也一样赞同废除内安法令。

后来，我们听说大伙儿将会集聚在富都巴士总站对面的兴都庙， 兴都权益会的人将在那里为内安法令下被扣留的人祁福。于是， 我们也开始步行到富都的兴都庙那里和他们会合。

一路上， 大家对我们手持蜡烛感到好奇。

有的人停下来看， 有的人还走过来问。

后来， 竟然有几个看起来好像是泰国来的中性人， 用生硬的英语问我们谁是 RPK，我们到底在干什么？

我们尝试告诉他们谁是拉惹柏特拉和内安法令，不过他们好像听不明白。后来当我们提到内安法令是一条法律，很不公平的法律时候，他们就恍然大悟了。

身为大马人， 处在和泰国接壤的一个国家，我们就好像一面镜子。

我们从泰国政局的身上，看到了大马的影子； 泰国人也何尝不是从大马人身上，看到了远在自己国土上，自己同胞的影子呢？

到兴都庙的路上，满街都是警察车窜来窜去。警车的声响不绝于耳。

不过，这些警察车都只是在虚张声势。并没有逮捕 / 阻止我们。

每一次人民集会，总是被有关当局说的好像世界末日快到了。更曾经出动水炮“伺候”手无寸铁的人群。如今自己身在人群里，不禁让我觉得纳闷：究竟是人民和平的请愿吓坏游客，还是警方这种“阻吓”方式， 吓坏了游客？

终于到达了富都巴士总站前面。

那里的人潮，简直就是一个庙会还是嘉年华会的！！！

人山人海。大家唱这歌， 喊着口号。由印度人，华人， 也有马来人（不过马来同胞不是很多，大概忙着办年货或者已经回乡过节了）。

似乎，在庆祝着一个属于大马人的节日。

我们也遇到了几位朋友。大家虽然从不同地方出发（一个从中央艺术方，另一个从律师公会出发），但是最终都在这里碰面。除了分享自己的“遭遇”， 还拍了几张照片留念。

人，是一种很奇妙的生物。平时虽然事不关己己不操心， 一盘散沙的一副模样。可是到了维护共同利益时， 却是可以出奇的团结。就算一个完全和自己不相干的人，大家也可以找到同一个理由，结伴而行。

虽然到兴都庙里祁福没有我的份儿（因为人潮已经多得我根本休想挤进去）。不过我想，举头三尺有神明。就算大家有着不同颜色的皮肤，讲着不同的语言。当天到场的人已经用最原始的肢体语言，讲着相同的话。不管什么宗教信仰，人民的这股意愿已经被神明听到。也希望透过这种举动，让当权者看到我们人民的意愿。

晚上9时左右，兴都权益会的人们已经祁福完毕， 代表也发表完了演说。

大家就各自散会。

有几个华裔青年，就干脆重新点燃蜡烛，在吉隆坡大街逛个够。由于我要赶车，所以就先行一步。带着烛光离开兴都庙， 一直走到轻快铁站前，才把蜡烛熄掉。
