Celcom staffs not only rude to customers, they’re also good in telling lies!!!

Posted in 生活 (Life) with tags , , on September 28, 2009 by sanjiun

OK, I wanna talk about Celcom AGAIN today.

I have been using Celcom Broadband for quite sometime. Coz few months ago, P1 Wimax was not available in my area. So Sam suggested to sign up for Celcom Broadband 3.6Mbps package.

Celcom claimed that they have the unlimited, widest coverage and fastest broadband speed reaching up to 3.6M bps, blah blah blah…

celcom broadband

However, the reality is… THIS is what I always get: Not less then 10 times of Error 619 each month. I thought the package allow you to connect to internet with UNLIMITED time???

090617_Celcom ERROR connect

When there is connection, I’ll get THIS : 20 kbps, sometimes 40 kbps… Hey! I thought I’ve signed up for Celcom 3.6 Mbps package???

090830_speedometer test 1 super slow

Last Thursday,  I was unable to connect to Internet whole day.

090924_no connection01

Feeling frustruated, I went to Celcom service counter in Metro Kajang Complex to ask. The girl at the counter said: Yes, we have problem with the network today. System is down. Hope to get it back by tomorrow.

I felt so angry. This is not the 1st time. I get the ERROR 619 messege once in a while. We, as a paid user, we were promised to get UNLIMITED connection for the package we sign up for. But in the end, why we always fail to get connected or getting super slow connection speed. Hey! Even tortoise/turtle/snails run faster then Celcom’s connection!!!! Is this the way Celcom cheating users???

I try to voice it out and hope the girl at Celcom service counter to give some feedback to their company to buck up their service. I said: “It is not fair for us!!!”

Another girl standing beside me, playing with her phone said: “Aiya, whole semenanjung (peninsular) like that lah! Whole Malaysia punye problem. Buat call pun tak boleh… Bukan saja Celcom got problem, Digi and Maxis pun sama…”

I was shocked to hear the girl replied: “Hey, this is not our problem. You complaint to Celcom lah! It’s their problem”. FUCK! Isn’t this place a “CELCOM SERVICE COUNTER“? You want me to talk to Celcom, isn’t this is the place I should come? You work for Celcom, so why I can’t come here to complaint?

Upon hearing my anger, the girls in Celcom service counter choose to IGNORE me. Yupe!!! IGNORE!!! The girl sitting there just comtinue to look into the computer; another girl standing beside just continue to play with her mobile phone and call her friend to chat… Totally IGNORE me, pretend I wasn’t even there… as if I am transparent!!!

Thank you Celcom!!! Now I know this is what you meant “customer service”. Just ignore your customers, pretend they were not there if you can’t answer their question. Let’s not talk about serving customer. They don’t even know simple courtesy or manner!!!

The next day, Celcom connection still sucks! The line was crawling and keep disconnecting.  And this is what the The Star reported the next day:

Celcom network failure caused by heavy traffic volume

PETALING JAYA: Celcom’s disrupted phone lines nationwide were gradually restored some 10 hours after the interruptions occurred.

“The failure was mainly due to heavy call volume which had increased by five folds during Aidilfitri,” said Celcom chief executive officer Datuk Seri Shazalli Ramly.

Other services such as SMS, email, GPRS, mobile broadband, roaming, IDD, and calls to other networks and fixed lines were unaffected.

As a result, some of its major network nodes experienced sudden overloading, causing a loss of signal between the nodes located at Kepong and Perda, Seberang Perai.

A call to the mobile service provider’s careline yesterday morning revealed their phone lines had been down since morning.

A pre-recorded voice message informed subscribers that they would experience some “disruption in taking and making calls in some parts of peninsular Malaysia”.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” said the message.

A customer care consultant said there was a “network problem” affecting the whole country, including Sabah and Sarawak.

Wow!!! If you tell me that few days before the festive season or the 1st few days of Hari Raya Celcom traffic is heavy, then it is understood, as people busy sending regards and wishes to friends and family. But why there is no “heavy traffic volume” problem during the first few days of Hari Raya holiday and the “heavy traffic volume” ONLY appears SUDDENLY after the 5th day of Hari Raya when some people are already start to work as usual? Is it really “heavy traffic volume”? Or just a very convenient excuse to tell the public?

Celcom cheif executive officer said: call volume increase 5 folds during Aidilfitri. For God’s sake!!! After providing service for sooooooo many years, don’t you know how many users do you have? Don’t you have already expect how much increment of traffic every festive season??? It’s not like Celcom user suddenly increase 5 folds just before Aidilfitri!!! Use your brain!!!

Celcom also said: “Other services such as SMS, email, GPRS, mobile broadband, roaming, IDD, and calls to other networks and fixed lines were unaffected.”

Hey!!!!! In that case, can anyone explain to me WHY I CAN’T GET CONNECT TO THE INTERNET WHOLE DAY LONG?!?!?!?!?!?

In addition to that, Celcom staffs not only good in being RUDE  and IGNORING customers. They are also good in telling LIES too!!! Remember the girl at the service counter told me? NOT ONLY CELCOM. MAXIS AND DIGI ALSO EXPERIENCE THE SAME DISRUPPTION OF SERVICE.

From the news reports (The Star/ Sin Chew etc.), I can only see the news of CELCOM SERVICE INTERRUPTION and SYSTEM DOWN. Maxis and Digi also down??? No where to be seen!!!!

Is Celcom gonna give REFUND/ COMPENSATION to paid users???

Nah… keep the change!

I’m gonna terminate your service soon, anyway!

。。ZZZzzzz……..

Posted in 环境 (Environment), 生活 (Life), 科学 (Science) with tags , on August 18, 2009 by sanjiun

“The guidelines are generic in nature and the schools should use the guidelines as a guide as to when they should close schools. Our recommendation is you only close schools if the school cannot function any more because there are too few students.

When the public see people with ILI without masks, tell the district health office so we can take action by issuing summonses and charging them under the Disease Control Act. — 17/08/2009 <The Star>

Duration of viral shedding

The duration of shedding with novel influenza A (H1N1) virus is unknown. Therefore, until data are available, the estimated duration of viral shedding is based upon seasonal influenza virus infection. Infected persons are assumed to be shedding virus and potentially infectious from the day prior to illness onset until resolution of fever. Infected persons should be assumed to be contagious up to 7 days from illness onset. Some persons who are infected might potentially shed virus and be contagious for longer periods (e.g. young infants, immunosuppressed, and immunocompromised persons).

Cyanide toxicology: facts and nonsense

(Life) with tags , , on June 18, 2009 by sanjiun

Somebody (Kit Lee) wrote this to MalaysiaKini on 4th of June: Nonsense to claim someone can get sick from cyanide.

He has been involved in exploration and mining for 40 years. And he claimed that using cyanide is perfectly safe. Well, what can you expect from a miner? Of course he would tell you that mining using cyanide is safe.

He started the article by introducing how to process gold using cyanide, and how SAFE it should be. He also mentioned how to denature cyanide after it is used. He also listed out 6 steps to limit the dangers of contamination. That’s is the ideal process according to ICMC (International Cyanide Management Code). Gold mining in Raub SHOULD BE SAFE IF THEY FOLLOW ICMC guidelines.

But the problem is: DO THEY FOLLOW THE CODE?

Kit Lee said, cyanide can be disintegrated under UV light exposure, therefore it is not toxic. However, the problem is, how long it takes to 100% disintegrate? What if the amount of cyanide being released is too much for the UV to disintegrate it? What if cyanide leaks to underground water and out of the reach of UV?

According to a review on 1997 approved EIA by Dr Glenn Miller from Nevada, US, he said the company did not follow the ICMC guidelines properly. They proposed a smaller scale of processing plant to apply for permit, but the exact facilities and the tailing processed per year is actually larger then what they proposed. Dr Miller called it “bait and switch”. If, there is a possibility the company being ‘dishonest’ in this way, how can we be so sure they follow the safety measurements according to ICMC guidelines?

Kit Lee also mentioned that cyanide can be denatured using chlorine, iodine and common hydrogen peroxide before discharge. But what about the big tanks of sodium cyanide before used? What if there is leakage from these big tanks? The cyanide that stored in their facility, haven’t being denatured? Also, what will happen if there is failure of tailing ponds and release the cyanide into local ponds or river?

facility1

Also, we must remember that, the facility located TOO CLOSE to residential area. Only a road away from residential area. No buffering zone between facility and houses, shop lots and even school. Is there the ideal place to store such a big tank of sodium cyanide? If there is any spills, the residents will not have enough time to evacuate. Besides that, according to Dr Miller’s report, the company proposed a smaller scale when they apply for permits. Is their risk assessment and management designed according to the smaller scale they proposed or exact scale they have now?

In the last paragraph of Dr Miller’s review, he said:

Thus, the 1996 EIA, in addition to being inadequate even at the time it was written, does not now even consider some of the major impacts of waste rock dumps, major milling and metallurgical processes that would be required to process the new ore being mined. The human and environmental risks of the tailings and contaminated water that will drain from the tailings are of such magnitude that it is my opinion that the entire EIA process should be started over, using current international standards for an environmental analysis.

If ICMC is the “golden rules” in setting up a gold mine, then Dr Miller’s advice is what we should follow, as he was one of the expert who involved in drafting the ICMC.

Indeed, just like what mentioned by Kit Lee, cyanide occurs naturally in many roots especially unripe tapioca and the indigenous people have been using these to ‘poison’ fish and yet the fish is edible.

I couldn’t agree with Kit Lee that cyanide is SAFE TO EAT. If cyanide is SAFE, why the fish are dead? Small dosage of cyanide, is enough to kill fish, but not enough to kill a healthy adult (yet). It is due to our body’s mechanism to get rid of mild cyanide ingested (from fish, tapioca or some other plant). It will be converted into thiocyanate, which is 7X less toxic and discarded from our body via urine. However, high level of thiocyanate  will still be able to cause damage to our body. And with ENOUGH dosage of cyanide, it can kills a normal, healthy, young adult. In some cases, people died of eating too much cassava/tapioca (cyanide overdose).

Indigenous people has been using cyanide to poison fish. But it seems like Kit Lee doesn’t know what devastating effect it causes. In many places (countries) where indigenous people using cyanide to poison fish, coral reefs and marine life were threatened. We lost many valuable species of corals and marine life due to cyanide poisoning. Colouful corals died and whole marine ecosystem disturbed. Do we want the same thing happen in Bukit Koman? Even a small dosage of cyanide can cause such a long term effect to marine ecosystem, just imagine what a big tanks of sodium cyanide can do.

Kit Lee said: “The current concerns by the Bkt Koman villages are due to misinformation, fear-mongering and emotion. It is nonsense to claim someone can get sick from cyanide. If you consume too much you just ‘suffocate’ and die, you do not get sick”.

How true is the statement? How many scientific publications he read? How many medical references he refers to? I wonder who is MISLEADING the readers here.

Read this – a report published by U.S. Department Of Health And Human Services:

Memory impairment has been reported as a delayed effect in individuals who survived a cyanide poisoning incident with antidotal treatment. A female developed difficulties with short-term memory 5 months after ingesting an unknown amount of an unspecified cyanide compound (Chin and Calderon 2000).

Well, I hope he won’t suffer memory impairment when he grows old one day and forget what he wrote to MalaysiaKini. Cyanide can bind to an important enzyme that carries oxygen in our body. Once cyanide binds to the enzyme, the enzyme can no longer carries oxygen into cells. Cells do not get enough oxygen. In a healthy normal adult, mild cyanide can be detoxed from body. But what about small children, babies or senior citizens? They do not have a terrific detox system to get rid of toxic in their body. And how can our children grow up healthily in such a oxygen deprived environment?

Is Kit Lee a doctor? NO. He is a mine operator. He has insufficient knowledge to tell us how safe cyanide is to our body. He claimed he operated a small ‘Heap Leach’ operation in Kelantan in the 1990s with no cyanide hazards. I do not know how SMALL his operation is, but Bukit Koman is definitely BIG.

We need answers from experts – a real expert; a doctor; a reseracher; an environmentalist… But definitely not a mine operator.

This is just like listen to Raub Australian Gold Mining company telling you that their mine in Bukit Koman is SAFE and environmental friendly; or a politician telling you that politic is CLEAN.

Bukit Koman residents welcome developement and wealth brought by gold mining activity. But with such an amout of cyanide storing just one road away from their residential area is just like living with a time bomb.

Kit Lee, if that is your own village where your family and kids live in, I wonder if you would say the same thing?

Posted in 环境 (Environment), 生活 (Life) with tags , , on June 8, 2009 by sanjiun

no plastic

bio_bag_500

biodegradable-plastic-bags-photo

I am a victim here… but looks like CELCOM not helping!

Posted in 生活 (Life), 荒唐事件录(Absurd) with tags on June 4, 2009 by sanjiun

OK.

I’ve been to CELCOM service centre, police station and court lately to get the nescessarily documents. When i made my police report, i told the police officer, Faizal what happen. He felt sympathy for what kind of trauma I’ve been through. He also shocked why CELCOM can misplace customer’s details just like that.

According to what CELCOM staff said, they need my IC, police report and surat sumpah. According to the complaint form, these 3 things are MANDATORY to bring when I file a complaint. And it didn’t mention MANDATORY in “remarks” column of birth cert, utility bills or monthly bills.

I did exactly what they told.

Today, i went back to the CELCOM service centre in Sg Chua. 1st, the receptionist said I need to bring my birth cert (I am a Malaysian and MyKad is not enough to prove that???). I told her my birth cert is in my hometown, and I was told the other day I only need to bring my IC. She went in and ask her supervisor (or something like that) in another room. She came back to me and said if without my birth cert, it might take longer to process (I still dunno why they need extra long time to prove I am a Malaysian and I was born in Malaysia). Anyway, she said I can try and gave me a number to wait for my turn.

My number was called. And i submit my forms to the girl at counter. This time, she asked me for my birth cert. I repeated my answer and told her I was told to bring IC the other day. She then INSIST that I need my birth cert, otherwise they will not process my forms (Again, it was different from what I was told a while ago).

Besides that, she also came up with another new items: my water/electricity utility bills 6 years ago. She said it was needed to show the address you are staying is differ from the accounted registered. GREAT!!! Who on earth will keep your utility bills for THAT LONG??? Can it prove anything if I move my house for few times? if I am renting a house and the utility bills were under a different name, then how? Can I just simply take utility bills from anyone and give them?

It was only IC, police report and surat sumpah the other day; but today, it became birth cert and utility bills… So what extra thing I need to bring tomorrow?

It seems like useless to talk to these people in counter. They are “machine” that only answers what was “programmed” into their brain. And they are not helping at all.

I don’t want to talk to dumb terminal, where is the programmer????

I tried to e-mail CELCOM few times since 1st June. My e-mail was “kicked back” twice from their mailbox. I can’t even complaint to CELCOM??? What kind of telecommunication company is this if they can’t even “communicate” with people via e-mail? My e-mail finally delivered. And all I get was this (after one whole day):

Dear Valued Customer

This is an automatic reply.

Thank you for writing to Celcom. We will respond to your e-mail in due course.

I once wrote an e-mail to Maxis for subscribing me to sms service without my permission. The manager called back the next working day to apologise and offered a refund (for even a small amount of RM 3).

But this is not the case for CELCOM. I am a victim here, CELCOM, and your staff are not helping at all.

Remember? Your staff misplace my important documents (police reports and surat sumpah)! And I have to go through all this over and over again because of your irresponsible staff.

How can a CELCOM staff misplace customer’s (or non-customer’s) documents? Since you can misplace such an important document, how I know it wasn’t the same person (CELCOM staff) who abuse my IC and details?

Who fault is this, CELCOM?

Is it fair for me to submit police report and re-submit police report for your stupid mistake?

CELCOM – how I hate you so!!!

Posted in 生活 (Life), 荒唐事件录(Absurd) with tags , on June 1, 2009 by sanjiun

2002, I saw an advertisement of TM Net TM touch (now CELCOM) promotion. Registration is free and first RM50 bill was FREE. Basically, you don’t need to pay a cent and they only charge starting from the 2nd month. My friend went to register and she enjoyed the 1st RM50 talk time for FREE.

Since I wanted to get myself a mobile phone so I thought it was a good deal and sign up with TM Net through their agent at Lower ground floor, BCB PLAZA, KLUANG. After filling in the forms and all the necessary procedures, the agent told me that I NEED TO PAY RM50 IN ADVANCE. This is TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT I SAW ON ADVERTISEMENT !!! Therefore I refuse ON THE SPOT and I DID NOT TAKE THE SIM CARD.

The stupid f*cking CELCOM agent then abuse my IC and information.

I didn’t know until I started to receive bills every month. I was shock but I didn’t bother about that at 1st. I thought they might stop sending bills once they found out I am not an ACTIVE USER (since I don’t even have the SIM card).

After a year, I started to get legal letter from CELCOM. And I went to their service centre to file a complaint. They told me that I need to go to police station to make a report and get a ’surat sumpah’ from court. I then went to Kajang Police Station to make a report. After telling them my story, I heard the policewomen told her fellow collegues said “Aduan CELCOM lagi…” and they already had a template for CELCOM customer IC abuse report!!! It sounds like I am NOT THE ONLY VICTIM OF CELCOM.

After getting the police report and surat sumpah, I BROUGHT BACK TO CELCOM SERVICE CENTRE AT SG CHUA personally and hand in over to them. Since then, no more bills and lawyer letter sent to me. Automatically, I thought it was “case close”.

BUT !!!! It is NOT OVER!!!

I just found out this morning that I was BLACK LISTED among telco companies coz I STILL OWE CELCOM RM 304.88!!!!

WTF!!! I settle everything few years ago!

I went back and check again with CELCOM SG CHUA branch. They told me I HAVEN’T settle the bill. I told them I handed over police report and surat sumpah few years ago in the same branch. After checking the system, they told me the police report and surat sumpah was NOT IN THEIR SYSTEM!

WTF!!! I need to go through everything AGAIN and make police report AGAIN for the same old STUPID reason. How can my police report and surat sumpah not in the system if I stop receiving bills and letter?

I am really pissed off with STUPID CELCOM.

First, the dishonest and f*cking CELCOM agent who abuse my IC and details.

Second, the brainless and irresponsible CELCOM worker who DID NOT keep the police report properly.

Third, the stupid CELCOM that makes me go to police station and court for 2nd time for the same reason!!!

They are ‘kind’ (or, stupid) enough to offer ‘40% discount’ for my bill. But this is definitely not my problem. I am not the one who use their service. Therefore I WILL NOT PAY A SINGLE CENT TO CELCOM!

When my friend came to know about this, she told me one of her friend experience the same situation with CELCOM. She said (via my Facebook):

Yea yea, u r not the first victim of stupid celcom. My friend’s stolen ic was used for celcom registration, end up with few hundred ringgit debt. So she show them d police report, thought case close. Mana tau after 2 years kena again! So hv to go police station print d report again… Not sure need to print how many times la.. I suggest u scan to pdf and flood celcom email with ur report.

How dare CELCOM ask me for money? Remember what the police said when I 1st made police report few years ago? It seems like this problem only happen to CELCOM. CELCOM should check their agents and workers’ credibility.

With CELCOM agents who can easily access and abuse customers’ personal details/ IC…

Who knows what other scam they might engage with using our IC and personal details?

Who knows they don’t use customer’s IC and details to get loan from Ah Long?

THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM, CELCOM!!!!
